Broadcast setup guide
Get Broadcast ready
After installing Broadcast, there are four main steps to complete before your content starts playing on screen: add your media, optionally organise it into collections, create a playlist, and pair a display screen.
This guide follows the real Broadcast setup flow and uses the same feature names you will see in the app: Media, Collections, Playlists, and screen pairing through broadcast.visualsoft.io.
Before you start
- Make sure Broadcast has been installed from the app store.
- Have the images, videos, or product content you want to show on your in-store screens ready.
- If you are pairing a screen, make sure the physical display has internet access and can open a web browser.
Setup steps
Open the Media area in Broadcast and add the content you want to show on screen.
You can add:
- Images
- Videos
- Products from your catalogue
- AI-generated images
Your media library is the starting point for everything else in Broadcast. Once media has been added, you can organise it or place it directly into a playlist.
Use Collections if you want to group related media together before adding it to a playlist.
This is useful for organising content by:
- Season
- Campaign
- Promotion
- Event
For example, you might create collections for Easter, Summer Sale, or New Arrivals.
If you do not need that extra layer of organisation, you can skip this step and add individual media items directly to a playlist instead.
Open Playlists and create a playlist for the content you want to show.
When building a playlist, add either:
- Individual media items
- Media collections
- Or a mixture of both
Arrange the items in the order you want them to play on your screens. This playlist becomes the content schedule that you will assign to a display screen during pairing.
To connect a physical screen, open a web browser on that screen and go to broadcast.visualsoft.io.
The pairing page displays a six-digit code. Back in the Broadcast admin, start the screen pairing flow and enter that code to link the screen.
Once the screen is paired, assign the playlist you created earlier. That determines what content will appear on that screen.
Recommended first-time workflow
- Add a few media items to Media.
- Create a collection only if you need to group content for a campaign or season.
- Build one playlist containing your test content.
- Open
broadcast.visualsoft.ioon the physical screen and enter the on-screen six-digit code in Broadcast. - Assign your playlist to the paired screen.
- Confirm the content starts playing as expected.
What to do next
Once your first screen is working, you can expand your setup by adding more media, creating more playlists for different areas of your store, and pairing additional screens as needed.
